Middle Ages is a set of stickers created in 1994 by Fred "Rich" Ditzler, right after the release of Legends. These were designed to be peeled and stuck to all those extra commons and basic lands every Magic player has lying around. They print run consisted of 1,000 sheets, for a total of 90,000 stickers. They were packaged 8 cards to a pack, and 30 packs to a box, and distributed mostly to stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. It is safe to say that all of the stickers in this set are currently extremely rare, especially in mint, unpeeled condition.

The stickers were printed in two sheets: an "uncommon" sheet and a "common" sheet. Each sheet had 45 images on it (9x5). This is similar to early expansions such as Arabian Nights and Antiquities where cards are printed in multiples on each sheet. There are multiple rarities, with "U1" (indicating a card printed once on the uncommon sheet) being the rarest to "C3" (printed three times on the common sheet) being the most common. The card distribution was also altered during packaging, creating what Mr Ditzler called "ungodly rares". Exactly which cards affected in this manner is unknown. Furthermore, the Rukh and Wasp of the Hive were only available via a mail-in. A few cards' images appeared on both the uncommon and common sheets. While Mr Ditzler took many steps to avoid WotC copyright, including changing around the format of the cards and inventing new mana symbols, it apparently was not enough for WotC legal. Shortly after the set was released, a cease and desist order was issued. No further sets were printed.
